Privacy Policy

AppNote (“the app”) is a macOS menu-bar utility for local, per-app notes. This policy explains what the app stores, what it does not collect, and how to reach us with privacy questions.

Summary

Data stored on your device

AppNote stores the following only on your Mac, inside the app’s sandboxed container:

We do not operate a cloud sync service for AppNote. Uninstalling the app (and removing its container data) deletes this information from your Mac according to macOS behavior.

Data we do not collect

App context

To attach notes to the app you are using, AppNote reads the frontmost application’s name and bundle identifier from the system. That information stays on your device and is used only to organize your notes.

Network

AppNote does not require a network connection to function. Opening the Mac App Store listing or this website is separate from the app binary and follows those services’ own policies.

Children

AppNote is a general-audience productivity utility. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
